We made it to London and are having a great time! Here is a quick recap of what we’ve been up to:

Day 1:

Because of the international time zone we have two days in one. I hope we haven’t lost you already! The adventure begins!!! Our first day consisted of flying to Canada, a 4 1/2 hour layover, and a flight across the pond to London, landing at Heathrow Airport. Upon arrival we spent most of the day acclimating ourselves to the city. After having lunch in Olympic Village it was onward to Olympic Park where we received our individual accreditations to perform at this prestigious venue. We found out at that time we were the only dance group from the United States asked to perform in the park – what an honor! After 33+ hours our heads hit the pillow….ahhhh sleep….

Day 2:

The alarm went off at about 6:30 and our feet hit the ground running. After a lovely breakfast in the dining room we headed for a city tour. We discovered during the city tour that we wished we had more time to spend at these incredible and interesting places. Now it was off to Olympic Park for our much anticipated first performance! The performers danced in front of a very cool looking bandshell for a very appreciative audience, followed by a picture with the Olympic Mascot. They danced GREAT, and what a GREAT group of kids! They didn’t disappoint, they did their job well! The rest of the day was spent with a feeling of celebration, eating, swimming, talking and some good times.

Day 3:

Well it just gets better and better! We woke up at 8:00 and had a hotel breakfast and were off to Oxford University… did someone say Harry Potter?! This is a beautiful college town that was much of the inspiration for the Harry Potter series. I would have loved to spend the entire day here, but we needed to have lunch and then on to the UK versus Brazil Girl’s Soccer Game, with 70,000 people in attendance! Wow what an exciting event! Amazing energy at the stadium, and our tickets were in the 9th row near the end of the field. Score ended 1 – 0 with UK winning. Goooo UK!

Coming attractions…..stay tuned!

Backside-of-Olympic-ParkTomorrow we will go to Stonehenge and Weymouth Bayside Festival where we will create a FLASH MOB, plus our performance! Watch for more information!
