Recreational Level

Recreational classes vary from ages 3-13. Jam Babies (age 3-4) will learn a tap and ballet routine. Little Rascals (ages 5-6), LA Babes (ages 7-9), and Broadway kids (ages 10-13) will learn a tap and jazz routine. Recreational level classes are designed for the beginner student, or those not interested in competition groups. Students in these classes will receive and are charged for one costume per dance routine, and will participate in one of our spectacular Year End Productions. You may purchase your dancewear, and dance shoes at Northland. Call to discuss the best class for your child.

Ballet Class

Ballet is the most important and beneficial dance class. Ballet technique builds strong dancers, and is the basis of all dance. You may take this in addition to tap and jazz classes. As a student reaches a certain degree of motor skills, which allow them a greater degree of emphasis on their technical development, we encourage adding ballet to their program. Ballet is a beautiful art that cannot be successfully learned in a combination class. For best results ballet is taught independently to allow proper development.
