Hannah’s interest in dance began after attending her first performance of “The nutcracker” at the age of four. Her parents enrolled her in dance studio lessons in ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, modern, lyrical, & musical theater shortly after the performance, and she has been dancing and twirling in her kitchen ever since!
A few highlights from Hannah’s dance career include joining Focus Dance Company where she performed classical ballet, pointe, and lyrical in the show “Lost and Found” at the Southern Theater during the MN Fringe Festival, Studying dance and taking dance classes at SCSU’S dance minor program, as well as being a part of their repertory dance theater under the direction of Debra Leigh and Jeffery Bleam. She also joined the professional modern and jazz company out of college called “The Minnesota Dance Ensemble” where she performed at the Paramount Theater in Saint Cloud, MN. She has greatly admired and enjoyed working and collaborating with many MN based choreographers around the twin cities.
Hannah has taught dance to students ages 14month- adult in various styles of dance over the years as well as presenting and writing curriculums for dance studios recreational programs. She loves and enjoys working with students of all ages and abilities! She has taught both recreational and competitive level dancing and has received many awards at competitions and nationals for her choreography and concepts.
Aside from dancing and teaching, she has worked with client’s with special needs an abilities which has helped her nurture a love and passion to anyone that wants to dance regardless of abilities. She also works and collaborates with a non profit that helps support families who have endured and experienced the effects of infant loss. She enjoys and cherishes spending time with her husband and kids and loves being a wife and mom.
Hannah is looking forward to being of staff at Northland, and is hopeful her students find a joy and a passion to dance, each valued, respected, and supported where ever their dancing journey leads them!
